Basketball Recap: Round Valley Starts Season with Win Against Greyhills Academy

Round Valley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They breezed past the Greyhills Academy Knights to the tune of 56-8. The Elks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Round Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kelci Walker, who shot 44% from the field to rack up 17 points and five steals. Walker has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Poston, who went 5-for-12 on her way to 10 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks.

Round Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Round Valley and Greyhills Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Elks see the court they'll take on Mogollon at 5:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Greyhills Academy, their break will end when they face Many Farms at 6:00 p.m. on December 4.
