Basketball Recap: Union County Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Union County won the last time they faced Ringgold and things went their way on Friday too. The Union County Panthers enjoyed a cozy 67-53 victory over the Ringgold Tigers. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Tigers are ranked 348th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Union County and bumps their season record up to 19-4. As for Ringgold, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Union County will take on North Murray at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Union County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully North Murray likes a good challenge. As for Ringgold, they will head out on the road to face off against Murray County at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
