Softball Recap: Larkin Finds Home Field Redemption Against Aurora East

There's no place like home for Larkin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on the Aurora East Tomcats with a sharp 18-3 win on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Royals considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Jiselle Aguinaga was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Aguinaga was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Kenya Ventura was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Mya Bermudez was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing six bases while going 1-for-2.

Larkin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .771. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Larkin's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Aurora East, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Coming up, Larkin will square off against Elmwood Park at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Aurora East, they will take on Harvest Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
