Basketball Game Preview: Clarksville Generals vs. Crothersville Tigers

The Clarksville Generals will take on the Crothersville Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Saturday, Clarksville was able to grind out a solid victory over Henryville, taking the game 62-52.

Ray McClendon and Josh Hall were among the main playmakers for Clarksville as the former went 9 for 18 en route to 26 points and seven rebounds and the latter dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which McClendon has scored at least a third of Clarksville's points. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Freeman, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Crothersville suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2024 on Friday. They were dealt a 91-59 defeat at the hands of South Central. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (58), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

Clarksville will need focus on slowing down CARTER JONES, one of several Crothersville players who made an impact when they last played. He put up 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of JUDE HOWARD, who scored eight points.

Clarksville's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9. As for Crothersville, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Clarksville has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 21.8 boards per game.
