Volleyball Recap: Wednesday's Loss Ends Southwest SD's Winning Streak

Southwest SD and El Capitan squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Southwest SD had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Vaqueros. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2022.

While Southwest SD had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 17-25, 25-22, 25-18.

Southwest SD moved to 18-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for El Capitan, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-13 record this season.

Southwest SD does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for El Capitan, they will venture away from home to square off against San Pasqual at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Vaqueros surely won't give up without a fight.
