Charles J. Colgan had won three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 5-1 to make it four. They blew past the Hylton Bulldogs, posting a 72-35 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Sharks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 234th).

As for Hylton, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5. The contest marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Hylton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kaleb Swanigan almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylen Cole, who posted six points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks.

Charles J. Colgan has already played their next game, a 59-57 victory against Osbourn on the 17th. Hylton and Gar-Field will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Red Wolves have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
