Volleyball Recap: Catholic Central Comes Up Short

Catholic Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Fairbanks Panthers, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Irish of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Leading Fairbanks to victory were Stephenie Headings and Mallereigh Rankin. Headings had eight aces and one assist, while Rankin had six aces. Those eight aces gave Headings a new career-high. Autumn Wiedmann also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Catholic Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Fairbanks, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Catholic Central is taking a road trip to take on Triad at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fairbanks, they will be playing at home against Cedarville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
