Softball Game Preview: Mesquite Wildcats vs. Mingus Marauders

The Mesquite Wildcats will square off against the Mingus Marauders at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Neither Mesquite nor Mingus posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Thursday, Mesquite came up short against Marcos de Niza and fell 6-1. The Wildcats have struggled against the Padres recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Mesquite saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Penelope Schrader, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Mingus fell victim to Coconino and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 13-0 to the Panthers. The Marauders' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Mesquite's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Mingus, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
