Football Recap: Auburn Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Auburn had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Hudson Hawks, falling 27-7. The Rockets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2016.

Despite the loss, Auburn still got an impressive performance from Bradyn Belanger, who rushed for 192 yards and two scores on only 13 carries. Belanger's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 110 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Jake Duggan had a dynamite game For Hudson., rushing for 114 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 56 yards and one touchdown.

Auburn will be playing in front of their home fans against Blackstone Valley RVT at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hudson, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Shrewsbury at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
