Volleyball Recap: Hayworth Christian Has No Trouble Against John Yowell Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cornerstone Christian Academy, Hayworth Christian was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the John Yowell Academy Panthers 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Hayworth Christian never let John Yowell Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-14, 26-24.

Kaitlyn Mullis paced Hayworth Christian's offense, picking up 15 kills. Mullis got some help from Ashley Jimenez and her 19 assists. Caroline Briles controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Hayworth Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for John Yowell Academy, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hayworth Christian will face off against Varsity Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for John Yowell Academy, after both having extra time off, they and Revolution Academy will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
