Soccer Game Preview: Bloomington vs. Centennial

For the first time this season, Bloomington will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to square off against the Centennial Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Bloomington fell victim to Bloomington Central Catholic and their airtight defense on Monday. They lost 9-0 to the Saints. The defeat continues a trend for Bloomington in their meetings with Bloomington Central Catholic: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Centennial got the win against Monticello on Wednesday by a conclusive 4-1. The result was nothing new for Centennial, who have now won four matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Alicia Fernandez and Jennavieve Baker scored all four of Centennial's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Bloomington, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Bloomington might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Centennial in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Purple Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
