It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Martin ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 49-48 win over the Arlington Colts. The score was all tied up 28-28 at the break, but the Warriors were the better team in the second half.

Martin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daylon Cobb, who rushed for 171 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Cobb has posted since back in September. Javian Jones-Priest was another key rusher, rushing for 217 yards and one score while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Martin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 485 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Arlington saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kason Brown rushed for 165 yards and one TD on only 11 carries, and also picked up 109 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 109 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Brown. Another signal caller making a difference was Coleman Cravens, who threw for 261 yards and a pair of TDs.

The victory made it two in a row for Martin and bumps their season record up to 4-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points over those games. As for Arlington, they dropped their record down to 5-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Martin nor the Colts have any future games scheduled.
