Softball Game Preview: Southern Tornadoes vs. Federal Hocking Lancers

The Southern Tornadoes will challenge the Federal Hocking Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Federal Hocking took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Southern, who comes in off a win.

While Southern's victory against Eastern wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tornadoes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Eagles on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Tornadoes in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Federal Hocking was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 22-10 to Waterford. On the bright side, the ten- run effort marked the Lancers' highest-scoring match to date.

Southern's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Federal Hocking, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything went Southern's way against Federal Hocking in their previous meeting back in April, as Southern made off with a 19-3 victory. Will the Tornadoes repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
