Softball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Canyon Crest Academy on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Ravens by a score of 10-8. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ravens apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Lea Zavala was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three runs. Victoria Lozano also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

With the defeat, Central broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-15. As for Canyon Crest Academy, their record now sits at 15-13-1.

Looking ahead, Central will welcome Valley Center at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Canyon Crest Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
