Softball Recap: Rio Vista Wins Going Away Against Frost

While Rio Vista put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Frost. The Eagles put the hurt on the Polar Bears with a sharp 16-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Rio Vista got a big performance out of Keller Rodriguez, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Ayden Greenslade was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Rio Vista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. The last time their OBP was this high was back in January.

Rio Vista pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Frost, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rio Vista will host Palmview at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lobos have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Frost, they will face off against Hico at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.64 runs per game on average), something the Polar Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of.
