Recap: Inderkum Tigers vs. Monterey Trail Mustangs
The Inderkum Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They snuck past Monterey Trail with a 106-101 win. Winning may never get old, but Inderkum sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Inderkum's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeremiah Butler led the charge by scoring 28 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Butler has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 19 rebounds.
Monterey Trail lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brandon Gibson Jr, who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. Gibson Jr is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last five games he's played. Damarion Vann-Kelly was another key contributor, scoring 28 points along with two steals.
Inderkum's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 90.5 points per game. As for Monterey Trail, their defeat ended a 17-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 24-3.
Inderkum didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-66 win vs. Antelope on the 9th. Monterey Trail has also already played their next game, a 86-65 win against Burbank on the 9th.
