Apex came into Monday's matchup looking for another win against Holly Springs, but Amy Lissow wouldn't allow it. The Holly Springs Golden Hawks came out on top against the Apex Cougars by a score of 46-38 on Monday thanks in part to Lissow, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Apex saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jordan Mele went 5 for 10 en route to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Austin, who earned six points and three steals.

Holly Springs' victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Apex, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.

Holly Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-44 loss against Green Level on the 4th. As for Apex, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-19 defeat against Apex Friendship on the 4th.
