Football Recap: Lincoln Meyers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cedar Park Christian over Sultan

After flying high against Coupeville last Friday, Cedar Park Christian came back down to earth. The Eagles fell 28-19 to the Sultan Turks on Friday. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 45-22 to the Turks when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cedar Park Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lincoln Meyers, who picked up 160 receiving yards and two TDs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 101 receiving yards per game. Tre Samuelu was another key player, having thrown for 289 yards and two touchdowns.

Julio Vargas Jr had an outrageously good game for Sultan as he picked up 110 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 61 yards and one score. That's the most receiving yards Vargas Jr has posted since back in September of 2024. Timothy Dilger was another key player, rushing for 120 yards on only 15 carries.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 3-2. As for Sultan, their record now sits at 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Cedar Park Christian will face off against North Mason at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Samuelu and Danner Jones. As for Sultan, they will square off against Lynnwood at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
