Baseball Preview: Glenn Bobcats vs. Conway Tigers
The Glenn Bobcats are on the road again on Friday to play the Conway Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Glenn will be strutting in after a victory while Conway will be coming in after a defeat.
Glenn put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Thursday. Everything went their way against Aynor as Glenn made off with a 9-1 win. The victory was just what Glenn needed coming off of a 10-4 loss in their prior contest.
Carmine Lancaster looked comfortable as he pitched an inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit (he also didn't allow any walks).
At the plate, Glenn let Logan Stump and Tyler Smith loose on the outfield. Stump scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Smith scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kale Woolard, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Conway came up short against Princess Anne on Thursday and fell 6-2. Conway has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Glenn's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 7.7 runs. As for Conway, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
