Basketball Recap: Mission Vista Takes a Loss

Mission Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 66-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the El Capitan Vaqueros. That's two games in a row now that Mission Vista has lost by exactly nine points.

El Capitan found their leader in sophomore Trevin Curo, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Curo has scored all season. Chance Smith was another key player, going 5 for 12 on his way to 13 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Mission Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for El Capitan, they moved to 4-12 with that win, which also ended their nine-game losing streak.

Mission Vista will square off against Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for El Capitan, they will take on Foothills Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Foothills Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something El Capitan surely won't give up without a fight.
