Baseball Recap: East Peoria Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

East Peoria posted their closest victory since April 11, 2024 on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the East Moline United Panthers 5-4. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Connor Watson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Auggie Lohnes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Mason Watson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

East Peoria pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for East Moline United, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Peoria will face off against Richwoods at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Moline United, they will be playing at home against Rock Island at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The game will give East Moline United their first taste of in-conference action this season.
