Preview: Park View Patriots vs. Unity Reed Lions
The Park View Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Unity Reed Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Park View's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Unity Reed has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Last Monday, Park View lost to Rock Ridge on the road by a decisive 43-26 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Park View has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Anna Helstrom, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. She scored a full 57.7% of Park View's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kyra Hurley, who scored six points along with five steals.
Park View struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Unity Reed was beaten by Osbourn 63-6 on Friday.
Park View's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-1. As for Unity Reed, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
