Basketball Recap: Lakeland's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Lakeland extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Kristina Ouimette. The Lakeland Thunderbirds simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Medford Raiders 65-32 thanks in part to Ouimette, who went 13 of 26 en route to 29 points and four steals. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lakeland's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Timmerman, who posted four points and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Lakeland is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Medford, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-9.

Lakeland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 73-32 victory against Xavier on the 25th. As for Medford, they will square off against Mosinee at 7:15 p.m. on January 31st.
