Basketball Recap: Homer-Center Falls to Conemaugh Township in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Homer-Center unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Conemaugh Township Indians 67-31 on Thursday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Conemaugh Township's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Stephen Stango, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 17 points along with eight steals and six assists. Stango's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Colin Dinyar, who went 10-for-21 en route to 21 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Looking ahead, Homer-Center will be taking part in a tournament against Kiski School at 7:16 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Conemaugh Township, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Central Cambria at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
