Softball Recap: Bloom-Carroll Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Bloom-Carroll lost to Pickerington North back in March of 2019, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Bulldogs never let the Panthers get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Maddi Walters looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Bloom-Carroll got a massive performance out of Claire Whitcraft, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Madelyn Gates was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Bloom-Carroll always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pickerington North only posted an OBP of .318.

Bloom-Carroll's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Pickerington North, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season.

Bloom-Carroll and Pickerington North are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Francis DeSales at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Bloom-Carroll is facing the Stallions at the right time seeing as the Stallions are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Pickerington North, they will be taking part in a tournament against Granville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
