Basketball Recap: Mcquaid Jesuit Extends Winning Streak to Three

McQuaid Jesuit won the last time they faced Franklin and things went their way on Tuesday too. The McQuaid Jesuit Knights took down the Franklin Bulldogs 71-54. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 654th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McQuaid Jesuit to victory, but perhaps none more so than Quinn Wilson, who went 6-for-9 en route to 17 points and five rebounds. Wilson is becoming a predictor of McQuaid Jesuit's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 2-1 (and 6-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jaiyden Jones, who went 7-for-10 on his way to 15 points and seven boards.

The victory (which was McQuaid Jesuit's third in a row) raised their record to 8-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points over those games. As for Franklin, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Coming up, McQuaid Jesuit will venture away from home to square off against East at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. East will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something McQuaid Jesuit surely won't give up without a fight. Franklin has already played their next contest (against Aquinas Institute), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
