Baseball Game Preview: Palisades Pumas vs. Ballantyne Ridge Wolves

The Palisades Pumas are taking a road trip to take on the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Palisades is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

Palisades had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Lake Norman put an end to it on Wednesday. The Pumas took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Pumas' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Palisades saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Rowland, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, while it was Ballantyne Ridge who put the first points on the board on Tuesday, it was Palisades who put up more. The Wolves came up short against the Pumas, falling 14-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolves have suffered since March 7th.

This is the second loss in a row for Ballantyne Ridge and nudges their season record down to 5-9. As for Palisades, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Everything went Palisades' way against Ballantyne Ridge in their previous matchup on Tuesday, as Palisades made off with a 14-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pumas since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
