South Effingham had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They managed a 66-60 win over the Woodville-Tompkins Wolverines. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

South Effingham's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Warren Roundtree, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 17 points and four steals. Quinton Williams was another key player, putting up 14 points and six rebounds.

Woodville-Tompkins' loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
