Basketball Recap: Arion Palacol Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ferndale

There's no place like home for Marysville Getchell, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They took down the Ferndale Golden Eagles 56-38 on Wednesday. Marysville Getchell has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Ferndale, too.

Marysville Getchell got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Arion Palacol out in front who went 6-for-14 on his way to 14 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Palacol is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zach Rice, who posted 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Marysville Getchell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Marysville Getchell's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Ferndale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-11.

Marysville Getchell has already played their next matchup, a 46-44 defeat against Shorecrest on the 22nd. Ferndale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
