Anahuac won against Kountze last Tuesday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since February 17th.

Michael Young was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Sutch, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Anahuac's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13-1. As for Kountze, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anahuac will venture away from home to take on Kirbyville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Kountze, they are taking a road trip to square off against Warren at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
