Football Game Preview: Laurel Locomotives vs. Park Rangers + How To Watch

Laurel has gone a perfect 7-0 against Park recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Locomotives will face off against the Rangers at 7:00 p.m. Park took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Laurel, who comes in off a win.

Laurel is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Montana's top teams: East Helena, who was ranked seventh at the time (Laurel was ranked second). The Locomotives snuck past the Vigilantes with a 25-19 victory on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Locomotives.

Curtis Fox produced another solid performance rushing for 242 yards and four scores while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Those 242 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Fox was just one part of a punishing run game: Laurel was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 254 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Helena only rushed for 95.

Meanwhile, Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against Havre, falling 64-7.

Park's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Laurel, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Everything came up roses for Laurel against Park in their previous meeting back in August of 2022, as the team secured a 56-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Locomotives since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
