Baseball Recap: Seattle Academy Comes Up Short

Seattle Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Lincoln on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lynx by a score of 2-1.

Eli Herst was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Herst was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Seattle Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lincoln, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Seattle Academy will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Chief Sealth at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Chief Sealth's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Seattle Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lincoln, they will challenge Nathan Hale at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln's pitchers better be ready for this one: Nathan Hale has averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
