Basketball Recap: Southridge Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Southridge had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 51-42 victory over the Mt. Vernon Wildcats. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Wildcats are ranked 187th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Mt. Vernon still got an impressive performance from Nash Hostetter, who went 9 of 15 en route to 25 points. Meyer Robb was another key player, putting up nine points.

Southridge's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Mt. Vernon, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Southridge has already played their next match, a 31-28 loss against Princeton on the 18th. As for Mt. Vernon, they will challenge Harrisburg at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Mt. Vernon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.
