Softball Game Preview: Hawkins Hawks vs. Dymally Challengers

Hawkins hasn't had much luck against Dymally recently, but that could start to change on Monday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 3:00 p.m. Hawkins has given up an average of 20.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Hawkins and Crenshaw meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again last Wednesday. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 25-17 margin over the Cougars. The Hawks not only won last Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 29, 2024 (when they won 29-1).

Dymally played against University Pathways Public Service Academy last Wednesday and won via forfeit.

The victory was the third in a row for Dymally, bringing their record up to 3-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Hawkins, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.
