Baseball Recap: Midway Makes It Four in a Row at Home

While Midway's win against Harriman wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Midway narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Harriman 5-3. The Green Wave haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Peyton Steele was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Midway is undefeated when Steele posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-7 otherwise. Raymond Duncan also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Midway's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Harriman, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Midway will have a chance to go back-to-back against Harriman: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
