Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Seminole's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Seminole unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 51-34 to the Ocoee Knights. The Seminoles were probably out for revenge after losing 51-37 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dakara Merthie was her usual excellent self, going 9 for 19 on her way to 25 points and three steals for Ocoee. That makes it four consecutive games in which Merthie has scored at least a third of Ocoee's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Holden, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Seminole's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Ocoee, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seminole will challenge Oak Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ocoee, they will host East River at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ocoee is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.6 points per game this season.
