Basketball Recap: LeRoy-Ostrander Takes a Loss

LeRoy-Ostrander and Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but LeRoy-Ostrander had to settle for second. They took a blow against Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton, falling 71-38. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton are ranked 85th).

Despite the defeat, LeRoy-Ostrander had strong showings from Benita Nolt, who posted 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, and Maria Almaraz-Nolt, who had three points and four steals. That's the most steals Almaraz-Nolt has posted since back in November of 2024.

LeRoy-Ostrander is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-25. As for Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.
