Football Recap: Coronado Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Coronado had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 0-9 to make it six. They were beaten by the Amarillo Sandies 79-6. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 769th, while the Sandies are ranked 154th).

As for Amarillo, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Jude Dunavin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 226 yards and four TDs on only eight carries, while also picking up 117 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Jett Lopez was another key player, throwing for 225 yards and three TDs on only 18 passes.

Coincidentally, Coronado and Amarillo will both be playing Lubbock the next time they take the field. The Sandies will host the Westerners at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st, while the Mustangs will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 7.
