Soccer Game Preview: Portal vs. McIntosh County Academy

The Portal Panthers will square off against the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Portal's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last three contests.

Last Tuesday, Portal got the win against Bryan County by a conclusive 4-1. Considering Portal have won nine games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Colby Stewart and Maggie Brannen scored all four of Portal's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 41 goals.

Meanwhile, McIntosh County Academy fell victim to Screven County and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Gamecocks. The loss continues a trend for McIntosh County Academy in their meetings with Screven County: they've now lost six in a row.

McIntosh County Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Portal, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Portal took their victory against McIntosh County Academy in their previous meeting on March 6th by a conclusive 10-0. Does Portal have another victory up their sleeve, or will McIntosh County Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
