Baseball Recap: St. Brendan Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

St. Brendan extended their postseason success on Monday against Killian. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-1 two weeks ago.

Not much got past Luciano Nava, who gave up just a hit to keep Killian off the board.

At the plate, Jan Perez Fernandez was excellent, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

St. Brendan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matches.

St. Brendan pushed their record up to 18-12 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Killian, their loss dropped their record down to 14-14.

St. Brendan will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
