Baseball Recap: Gardner Comes Up Short

Gardner lost against Maynard back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 9-8. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one run.

Gardner has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Maynard, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gardner will face off against Murdock at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Maynard, they will challenge Bromfield at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
