Basketball Game Preview: Flambeau Falcons vs. Lake Holcombe Chieftains

Flambeau is 2-8 against Lake Holcombe since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Flambeau Falcons are taking a road trip to take on the Lake Holcombe Chieftains at 5:45 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Flambeau is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-36 heartbreaker at the hands of Prairie Farm.

Meanwhile, Lake Holcombe had to suffer through a 69-19 loss at the hands of New Auburn. While losing is never fun, the Chieftains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 407th, while the Trojans are ranked 84th).

Lake Holcombe's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Flambeau, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Flambeau couldn't quite finish off Lake Holcombe in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 53-50. Can Flambeau avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
