Volleyball Recap: Kirtland's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Kirtland entered their tilt with Rootstown on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Rovers by a score of 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Hornets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kirtland walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-16, 24-26, 25-12.

Ellie Spencer paced Kirtland's offense, picking up 20 kills. Spencer got some help from Andriana Grman and her 19 assists. Grman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Kirtland's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Rootstown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Kirtland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Chagrin Falls on the 25th. As for Rootstown, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Crestwood on the 25th.
