Baseball Recap: Bayfield Find Success

Bayfield's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Rifle Bears by a score of 14-9. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolverines considering their one-run performance the game before.

Tavian Box was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Estavan Gonzalez, who got two hits.

Bayfield hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

Bayfield's record is now 3-4. As for Rifle, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Bayfield has already played their next matchup, an 8-5 loss against Delta on the 21st. As for Rifle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-12 defeat against Montrose on the 21st.
