The Calvert Senecas will head out on the road to challenge the Lakota Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Calvert is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Calvert is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against St. Mary Central Catholic by a score of 8-4 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Senecas.

Calvert got a great performance from Tucker Coleman as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Calvert saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Moyer, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Moyer also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Calvert hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Mary Central Catholic struck out nine times.

Meanwhile, Lakota didn't have quite enough to beat Hopewell-Loudon on Monday and fell 10-9. The Raiders have struggled against the Chieftains recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Graham Harmon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Calvert's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Lakota, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Lakota's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Calvert has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. It's a different story for Lakota, though, as they've only averaged .361. Will they be able to contain Calvert's hitters?

Calvert took their win against Lakota in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Senecas since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
