McIntosh County Academy waltzed into their matchup on Friday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They came out on top against the Portal Panthers by a score of 63-52. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 69-27 back in January.

McIntosh County Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mj Quarterman, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Quarterman is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Neo West, who posted nine points in addition to seven assists and five steals.

McIntosh County Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Portal only racked up 13 assists.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josh Coleman, who went 8 for 11 on his way to 18 points. Those 18 points gave Coleman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke Percell, who went 6 of 9 en route to 13 points.

McIntosh County Academy pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Portal, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

McIntosh County Academy has already played their next contest, a 66-30 victory against Metter on the 1st. As for Portal, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-40 win against Emanuel County Institute on the 1st.
