Baseball Recap: Laurel Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for Laurel's offense. They came up short against the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders on Saturday, falling 13-0. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Laurel saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Gilchrist, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Gilchrist has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Laurel's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Eleanor Roosevelt, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7.

Laurel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eleanor Roosevelt, they will take on Northwestern at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
