Baseball Recap: St. Marys Has No Trouble Against Valley

While St. Marys put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Valley. The Blue Devils blew past the Lumberjacks 10-0. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Lumberjacks: they've now won eight in a row.

The team relied heavily on Ayden Powell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Liam Davis also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

St. Marys picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 5-11-1. As for Valley, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Coming up, St. Marys will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Clay County at 12:00 p.m. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Valley, they will welcome Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
