Preview: Godby Cougars vs. Gadsden County Jaguars
After two games on the road, Godby is heading back home. They will take on The Gadsden County Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
After soaring to 43 points the game before, Godby were a bit more limited in their matchup two weeks ago. They were outmatched by Florida State University High School on the road and fell 35-7. Godby was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.
Meanwhile, Gadsden County pushed their score all the way to 42 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They and Walton were almost perfectly matched up, but Gadsden County suffered an agonizing 43-42 loss. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (34), Gadsden County still had to take the loss.
Godby now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Gadsden County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Godby beat Gadsden County 24-14 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Does Godby have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gadsden County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
