Basketball Recap: Hannah Simmon and Courtney Simmon Secure Win for LKY

LKY hadn't done well against Bluegrass United recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The LKY Saints came out on top against the Bluegrass United Bluehawks by a score of 57-50. The win was nothing new for the Saints as they're now sitting on three straight.

LKY was led to victory by Courtney Simmon and Hannah Simmon. Courtney dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Hannah posted 26 points and four steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Hannah has scored at least a third of LKY's points.

When it comes to explaining why Bluegrass United lost, don't look at Allie McGuire. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. With that strong performance, McGuire is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Noe Gordon was another key player, putting up four points along with five rebounds and four steals.

LKY's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Bluegrass United, their record now sits at 10-17.

Coming up, LKY will be playing at home against Community Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. LKY has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 189 points over their last three games. As for Bluegrass United, they will venture away from home to challenge Shelby County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
